Beach Walk 374R - Good Day Diving on the North Shore
We are taking a week (or two!) off of Beach Walks – this episode diving the North Shore is one of my favorites!
Beach Walk 369R - Wish We Were There!
We are taking a week off of Beach Walks – today’s replay is fun on the water in an outrigger canoe.
Beach Walk 366R - Surf's Up!
We are taking a week off of Beach Walks – though we’ll be serving up some ono-licious reruns for your heart and soul’s pleasure.
Beach Walk 354 - Mental & Physical Energy
Outrigger canoeing is such a great example of using all kinds of energy – mental, physical and the mana or divine power that is available to us when we remember. When I am lacking in physical energy, I can use mental discipline to keep going. If I do that too much, and ignore my body’s true fatigue, there is often a price. Either way I can choose.
Beach Walk 317 - Routine in the Flow
Ze Frank inspired me today; maneuvering between being in the flow with keeping a routine.
Beach Walk 305 - My Favorite Thing
Carefree, out on the water today for a real day of vacation!
Beach Walk 272 - I'd Rather Be Surfing
You’ll have to watch the entire show to understand the title.
Beach Walk 247 - Zero to Tahiti
Kris is a great example of someone over 40 discovering something new she loves and pouring herself into it wholeheartedly and wholebodily. I can’t begin to tell you the many hurdles a new paddler faces — physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual challenges. Being able to tap into your love of the activity to get through all of these is clearly one of Kris’s secrets.
Beach Walk 244 - Surf's Up!
My friend Lana called on her way home from work who said her boyfriend Chris had heard from the guys who cut their grass (and a lot of beach front homes too) that big waves were in town. I just love that word-of-mouth! So we all headed over to Kailua Beach with the boogie board and caught some great rides.
Beach Walk 225 OTR - Wish We Were There!
For those of you who are new here, I usually walk the beach with my dog Lexi in Hawaiʻi. But I am on the road traveling for my job, so you get to come along with me! I like to think of Beach Walks as much as an attitude as a place. A place where we explore the edges of the known world, and think differently.
Beach Walk 218 - Safe Travel, Darling
It’s the last swim in the Pacific for a few weeks (for me) as Beach Walks goes on the road again.
Beach Walk 216 - Breakfast With Champions!
Lucky me, I’m walking the beach with two outrigger canoe champions as we talk about women and sports. It’s not always pretty.
Beach Walk 215 - Na Wahine O Ke Kai Part 2
Part 2, so you can hear from the paddlers themselves. There’s nothing like the first time crossing the channel!
Beach Walk 214 - Na Wahine O Ke Kai Part 1
Finally! After months (and for some, years) of training, the Na Wahine O Ke Kai 41-mile canoe race was held today.
Beach Walk 208 - Molokai Channel Here We Come
After months of training, the Na Wahine O Ke Kai canoe race is this Sunday.
